Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 21, 2026

1. OWNERSHIP AND LEGAL ENTITY DISCLOSURE

The website TroveScore.com (the "Service") is owned and operated by ARSHANTI, LLC, a California limited liability company ("Company," "we," "us," "our"). Members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, and successors of the Company are intended third-party beneficiaries of the indemnification, limitation of liability, and disclaimer of warranties sections below. Your legal relationship is with the Company only, not with any individual owner, member, or employee in their personal capacity.

2. ACCEPTANCE OF TERMS

By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. Certain features require additional agreements (for example eBay's User Agreement when you connect eBay).

Electronic communications: If you have an account, you agree that we may send you notices and other communications about your account and the Service by email, at the address on your account or the one you give us. These include messages about your membership, security, and changes to these Terms or the Privacy Policy. You agree that these emails satisfy any legal requirement that a communication be in writing. To stop receiving them, you can delete your account in Settings, but we may still send you messages we are required to send.

3. ELIGIBILITY AND AGE REQUIREMENT

You must be at least 13 years old to use the Service in general. By using TroveScore, you represent that you meet this requirement.

Marketplace and commerce features: If you connect eBay or use tools that create or manage listings, offers, or sales on a third-party marketplace, you represent that you meet all age, eligibility, and account requirements imposed by that marketplace (for example eBay's minimum age and seller rules). If you are not eligible to sell on a marketplace, you must not use those features.

The institutional portal (libraries, schools, and similar) is for authorized staff and administrators. It is not designed for direct use by children. Institutions are solely responsible for compliance with laws governing minors' data, including COPPA and FERPA as applicable.

4. DESCRIPTION OF SERVICE

TroveScore provides software tools for scanning, cataloguing, and evaluating books and related items, including AI-assisted identification, estimated values, routing or donation suggestions, optional integrations (such as eBay listing assistance), and institutional lookup features. The Service may change, suspend, or discontinue at any time, with or without notice. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation.

Regional and beta availability: Some features, currencies, marketplaces, or countries may be offered on a limited, early-access, or beta basis, or may not be available in your country at all. We do not guarantee that any specific feature, currency, or marketplace integration is or will become available where you are located, and availability may change without notice. For example, eBay pricing and listing support for United Kingdom (GBP, eBay.co.uk), Canadian (CAD, eBay.ca), and Australian (AUD, eBay.com.au) sellers has recently launched and is being offered on a beta basis while we validate real-world performance; shipping-cost estimates, defaults, and other market-specific configuration may change without notice as we do.

Where we operate: The Service is run from the United States and is available to anyone online. Apart from the regional features described above, we don't aim marketing or advertising at particular countries outside the United States. Local currencies you see are shown by our marketplace and payment partners (for example, eBay prices in the local currency, or a local-currency price at checkout that our payment provider converts). You are responsible for following the local laws that apply to your use of the Service. Nothing in this paragraph limits any consumer rights that the law of your country gives you.

5. AI CONTENT, LIMITATIONS, AND VALUATION DISCLAIMER

The Service uses artificial intelligence and third-party data. The following applies:

Accuracy: AI-generated identifications, titles, ISBNs or other identifiers, categories, and metadata may be wrong or incomplete. You are solely responsible for verifying all information before you rely on it, export it, donate items, or publish listings.

Valuation disclaimer: Values shown are automated estimates only, not professional appraisals. Do not use them for tax, insurance, legal, estate, charitable deduction, or other consequential purposes without independent verification by a qualified professional.

No warranty as to outputs: The Service is provided "AS IS" with respect to AI and data outputs. We do not warrant accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose.

6. YOUR CONTENT; YOUR RESPONSIBILITY; LICENSE

Your responsibility for all content: You are solely and exclusively responsible for all content you submit, generate, or cause to be transmitted through the Service, including photographs, edits, listing text, images attached to listings, ISBNs or other identifiers you accept or enter, condition descriptions, prices, categories, and any other fields. You represent that your content does not violate law, third-party rights, or platform rules.

No duty to verify: We do not pre-approve or verify your uploads or listings. Tools that suggest text or fields do not replace your obligation to review everything before you publish, donate, ship, or otherwise act.

You retain ownership of your content. You grant the Company a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, copy, process, transmit, display, and distribute your content solely as reasonably necessary to provide, secure, improve, and enforce the Service and to comply with law. You may revoke this license as to future content by deleting it where the product allows; copies may persist in backups for a limited period or where retention is required by law.

Scan photos are processed as described in the Privacy Policy. Catalogue fields and similar data may be stored to power your Trove and features you use. See the Privacy Policy for retention and subprocessors.

7. ACCEPTABLE USE

You agree not to:

  • Upload, transmit, or attempt to use the Service to distribute unlawful content, including child sexual abuse material, non-consensual intimate imagery, or obscene material as defined under applicable law.
  • Use the Service to harass, threaten, defraud, or impersonate others; to spam; or to interfere with the Service or other users.
  • Infringe intellectual property, publicity, or privacy rights; list counterfeit, stolen, or misrepresented goods; or circumvent marketplace policies or fees.
  • Probe, scrape, or attack our systems; reverse engineer except where prohibited by law; or misuse APIs or integrations.
  • Submit malware or excessive automated traffic, or use the Service in violation of export control, sanctions, or other applicable regulations.

We may investigate suspected violations and cooperate with law enforcement. A breach of this Section may result in immediate suspension or termination without refund.

8. EBAY AND THIRD-PARTY MARKETPLACES

Marketplace listing support (including which countries, currencies, and eBay sites we can publish to) varies and may not match the marketplace your eBay account is registered on. We may decline or be unable to publish a listing for your account's country, in which case pricing and cataloguing features remain available even though listing does not.

If you use eBay or other marketplace integrations, you understand and agree that: (a) you, not the Company, are the seller or contracting party with the marketplace; (b) listings, sales, fees, shipping, returns, taxes, and disputes are solely between you and the marketplace and your buyers; (c) you must comply with the marketplace's User Agreement, listing policies, prohibited and restricted items policies, and all applicable laws; (d) the Company does not guarantee listing approval, search placement, sales, or account standing; and (e) the Company is not responsible for marketplace outages, API changes, account suspensions, or enforcement actions by the marketplace or regulators.

Any dispute you have with a buyer, seller, marketplace, or third party is solely between you and that party. To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release the Company and its owners, members, managers, officers, employees, and affiliates from claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind arising out of or in any way connected with such disputes.

9. BILLING AND PAYMENTS

Most of the Service is free. Some features require a paid "Patron" membership, billed monthly or yearly. Patron memberships are sold through Link, a service of Stripe, which acts as the reseller and merchant of record for your purchase, calculates and collects any sales tax or VAT, and sends your receipts. By buying, you also agree to Link's terms of sale. Charges appear on your statement as "LINK.COM* TROVESCORE" or similar.

Automatic renewal. Your membership renews automatically at the end of each billing period, at the price you subscribed at, until you cancel. Prices are shown in US dollars and include applicable taxes; if you pay in another currency, the amount charged may vary slightly with exchange rates. As long as your membership continues without a break, we won't raise its price. A promotional discount lasts for the period stated with the offer, or, if none is stated, for as long as that membership continues without a break. It ends when the membership ends and may not be offered again.

Plan limits and fair use. Each plan's limits, such as the number of shelf scans per day and the number of books in your library, are shown on our Pricing page and may change; if we lower a paid plan's limits, we will tell you before the change takes effect. The Service is for personal use: we may slow or pause use that is automated, far beyond typical personal use, or that affects the Service for others. If you need more than your plan allows, contact us.

Cancelling. You can cancel at any time from Settings, or from your Link account. Cancelling stops future renewals. Before you confirm, Settings shows when your membership will end and any refund. After it ends, your account returns to the free plan; your books and other data are not deleted. Before a cancelled membership ends, you can rejoin from Settings: the new membership takes over, and is first charged, on the day the old one ends, at the price and offers available when you rejoin. To delete your TroveScore account, first cancel a membership that is still set to renew. Deleting your account before a cancelled membership ends gives up the time left, with no further refund.

Refunds. If you cancel within 24 hours of any charge, we refund that charge in full and your membership ends right away. After that, monthly memberships are not refunded; they run to the end of the month you've paid for and don't renew. For a yearly membership, each month you've started counts as used, at the monthly price you would have paid (including any discount); we refund the rest automatically, and you keep Patron until the end of the current month. Once about 5 months have been used there is nothing left to refund. None of this limits any right to cancel or get a refund that the law of your country gives you.

Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, Patron features pause until the payment succeeds. You'll be asked to update your card.

10. INDEMNIFICATION

To the fullest extent permitted by law, you shall defend, indemnify, and hold harmless ARSHANTI, LLC and its members, managers, officers, employees, contractors, affiliates, licensors, and successors (collectively, the "Indemnified Parties") from and against any and all third-party claims, demands, actions, investigations, liabilities, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or related to: (a) your content, conduct, or use of the Service; (b) your listings, sales, donations, shipments, or transactions on or off any marketplace; (c) your violation of these Terms, our policies, or any law; (d) your violation of any third-party rights or marketplace agreement; or (e) your reliance on AI outputs without independent verification. We may assume exclusive defense and control of any matter subject to indemnification at your expense; you agree to cooperate.

11. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY

To the maximum extent permitted by law, in no event shall the indemnified parties be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, goodwill, data, or other intangible losses, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the service, any ai or third-party data, any listing or transaction, or any unauthorized access to or alteration of your transmissions or content, whether or not based on warranty, contract, tort (including negligence), strict liability, or any other legal theory, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. The indemnified parties' aggregate liability for any claims arising out of or related to the service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the amounts you paid to the company for the service in the twelve (12) months before the claim or (b) five u.s. dollars (us$5). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations; in those jurisdictions the company's liability is limited to the maximum extent permitted by law.

12. DISCLAIMER OF WARRANTIES

Except as expressly required by applicable law, the service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that defects will be corrected.

13. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION

We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service, remove or disable content, or restrict features at any time, with or without notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms, creates risk, is unlawful, or harms users, third parties, or the Company. Provisions that by their nature should survive—including your content obligations, acceptable use, marketplace release, indemnification, limitation of liability, disclaimers of warranties, and governing law—survive termination.

14. GOVERNING LAW; VENUE

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. You consent to the exclusive jurisdiction and venue of the state and federal courts located in San Mateo County, California for disputes arising out of these Terms or the Service, subject to mandatory consumer protections in your jurisdiction where applicable.
