Yes. Scanning is free, and your first few scans need no account. Signing in is free too, takes one tap with Google or Apple, gives you more scans, and your books carry over automatically.

Does TroveScore store my photos?

No. Photos are processed in memory and never written to disk or stored. Only the identified item data (titles, ISBNs, valuations) is saved to your scan history.

Can I share my book collection online?

Yes. Every TroveScore account includes a free Showcase — a public page at trovescore.com/u/yourname that displays your books as a virtual bookshelf you can browse, with your choice of color theme and shelf decor, and the books you're reading now. Share the link with friends, your book club, or on social media. Your Showcase is private by default, and you control exactly what appears — any book can be hidden from the Showcase while staying in your Trove.

Can TroveScore scan an entire shelf at once?

Yes. That's the core feature. One photo can identify the books across a full shelf — you don't need to scan them one at a time.

Scan and book limits

Why there are limits

We love building TroveScore, and every scan costs real money. Each photo goes through an AI model that reads every spine, and then we look up details and resale prices for every book it finds. Limits keep that affordable, so TroveScore can stay free for everyone who uses it the way most people do.

How they work

A scan counts only if it found at least one book. A blurry photo or a scan that found nothing is free.
If every book a scan found was wrong, remove them all on its results page within 24 hours and you get the scan back. Books you move to your wishlist don’t count as removed.
A book you add from Book Check isn’t an AI scan, so it never uses one. It does count toward your book limit, like any other book.
Wishlist books count toward your book limit too. You can always save one more: past the limit it is kept and hidden, like any other book.
Nothing you’ve scanned is ever deleted because of a limit.
